I wanted to challenge myself to learn more about simulation and geometry nodes through a project that incorporates both. I’d always wanted to experiment with Blender’s fluid simulation and create a realistic splash on an object, so I figured a dramatic beverage advertisement would be perfect for this. Ended up going with a Heineken can (not sponsored) and learned a ton about how to properly set up fluid simulations via tutorials and tweaking... days of tweaking. Simulations can take a while to bake. I then wanted to create some realistic condensation on the can, and through several more tutorials and tweaks, I was able to create and fine-tune a convincing condensation setup that I’m quite happy with. After several test bakes of the fluid sim, texturing of the can, setting up dramatic lighting, rendering the animation, and some sound editing in post, I’ve created an advertisement that I’m very pleased with!
